I am 7yrs old and got to go on a tandem flight with uncle deon, we went really high and it got cold and all I wanted to do was take pictures of how small the houses and people were getting.

All my friends in grade one here at Sedgefield primary are very jealous because I got to go up and they all sit and watch the paragliders everyday in break time.

Thank you Uncle Deon for letting me have such a cool flight!

The only things I used to think of were my toys, riding bike and going to Karate but now I only think of flying and when i'm going to be old enough to fly on my own.

I went up to the Sedgefield take-off site in february of this year(2011) to take some photo's of the people going up. While sitting on the sidelines I was approached by Deon and asked if I would like to fly? "Of course, I would having come from an adrenalin junkie childhood this seemed like the next step!" Deon offered me a chance, but unfortunately I had to decline due to being a recently divorced and now single mom of two very active boys who took up all my time.

He was very kind to offer me a shorter flight one day when he wasn't too busy. I in the mean time was hoping to get a bit of money in for my birthday coming up then I could possibly go.I never expected to get a call but was thrilled when I did and got up to the site as soon as Deon had called me.

I was barely out my car when a huge smiling Deon gave me a helmet to put on and walked me to the front of the take-off site and strapped me into a harness saying he "checks twice just to make sure I won't fall out", before I could even think about it properly we were taking off at a run and in the air.

The flight was amazing and so exhilirating it felt like I was truly high up looking down on all the goings on in Sedgefield, about this time Deon asked what I thaught of this and I had to say it is awesome and I would definately do it again a couple of times.

Deon informed me that he is sponsored by Mcdonalds in George and that he would have a chat with the owner about sponsoring me.

Two days before my birthday they came and told me that it was a go and I have a full sponsorship to do a course in paragliding.It was truly a dream come true for someone like me and I have been most priviledged to have this opportunity, I'd really like to thank Deon for all the time he has spent teaching me and then to Mcdonalds for the sponsorship.

I am aiming high so watch this space!:)
